Toy Story was the first ever film made entirely in CGI, and was the highest grossing film of it's year. It was so successful that it had two sequels, a spin off, and countless merchandise. The models on this film are great, and much better than models from other things at the time. However, some of the textures, especially when it comes to text, are quite blurry, and there are a lot of plain, solid colours; but this works well with the fact that they are meant to be toys.
The textures for the second film are much higher quality, and the human characters look more believeable. Even though the environments are going for a cartoony look, they still look more realistic than in the previous film.
The models and textures for the third film are much better than in the other two, and the fact that it is made for high definition means that the detail is sharper, and clearer to see. This helps bring the models to life.
In this blog I will place examples of 3D that I find appealing, as well as the work that I have made; showing the steps that I took to make the finished products.
